Arthur is a 5-year-old, 78-pound neutered Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This handsome boy is the perfect combination of playful adventure buddy and affectionate cuddle companion. He was found roaming around a park and brought to the county shelter, but thankfully a foster opened their home to him. Arthur approaches every day with enthusiasm, enjoying playtime, exploring, and spending time with his people. He's had positive interactions with dogs of various sizes and is known to respect their cues. Arthur is also curious around cats and pot-bellied pigs, showing no aggression, though introductions and supervision are always recommended. He has spent time with a young child and has done well, but due to his size and excitement, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play. He's fully house-trained and crate-trained, settles nicely in his crate, and rides beautifully in the car – he especially loves car rides! Arthur is outgoing, playful, curious, affectionate, and incredibly sweet, and he believes that if he fits, he can sit! While he may pull a bit on walks initially, he settles into a routine and does well.

Arthur's ideal home is one that can provide regular exercise, structure, and plenty of opportunities to be part of the family. He would thrive with people who enjoy including their dog in everyday adventures. Because of his size and excitement, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play, so a family that understands his energetic nature and can provide appropriate outlets for his enthusiasm is best.

Training & Support
Arthur is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He settles nicely in his crate and has comfortably stayed crated for longer periods. He may pull at first on walks but settles into the routine and does well.
