Hi hoomans! My name is Kira, and I'm a sweet and energetic 5-year-old Terrier Mix weighing in at 29 lbs. I was rescued as a puppy and, believe it or not, have had three previous adoptions. Each time, my families had to return me for reasons completely unrelated to my behavior – they had to move, a family member disagreed with having a dog, or they felt overwhelmed with a new baby. I've always been described as the best-behaved girl! I'm still hoping for my forever family to come along and give me the happy ending I deserve.
I'm a loving gal who truly enjoys playtime and especially adores receiving pets and cuddles. I'm naturally obedient and usually respond well to my name. I'm also very social and approach new people with curiosity and sweetness. My favorite things include going for walks (I get so excited for my leash!), getting affection, and playing with my doggie friends. Overall, I'm a well-behaved and loving companion.
Ideal Home
I would do great in a home with children! I also get along well with other dogs. However, I am not good with cats and will need a home free of them. My prey drive is unknown, so my adopter should be prepared to train me if any behaviors around small animals arise.
Ongoing Health
I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come with all my vaccine and test records. Please note that it's common for rescue dogs to need dental work after adoption, and these costs are the adopter's responsibility.
Training & Support
I LOVE walks and will need some consistency and help with leash skills in my new home. I'm also a work in progress with housetraining, so frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will be key. We highly encourage adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.
