Tango is a wonderfully mellow, affectionate, and good-natured 3-year-old male, weighing approximately 60 lbs. He's a mixed breed, likely with Carolina Dog and Husky in his lineage. Tango is the kind of dog who makes you wonder how he hasn't been snatched up already! He doesn't demand attention; he simply wants to be close to his people, following them from room to room, resting his head nearby, and greeting new faces with a wagging tail and calm curiosity. His foster family has taken him everywhere – to the office, outdoor festivals, and school drop-offs – and strangers and children alike instantly become fans. His foster describes him as one of the sweetest dogs they've ever had.
Ideal Home
Tango is looking for a family that wants a devoted companion and will include him in their activities. He is adaptable with a medium energy level, enjoying play sessions in a backyard and content after a short walk. Households with very elderly individuals should take note, as Tango can be a bit unsure on slippery floors and may get underfoot when following his favorite person.
Ongoing Health
Tango came to rescue with some physical challenges and underwent surgery to repair his hip sockets and correct a hole in his nasal cavity. He has since made a remarkable recovery with no ongoing issues, requiring no medications and having no limitations on activity. He is in good health and his hard days are behind him. All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed, and spayed or neutered.
Training & Support
Tango is fully house-trained and crate-trained, doing well when left alone for several hours (he is crated when alone). His current routine includes five walks a week and regular playtime in a large fenced backyard. Leash manners are a work in progress; he walks nicely on leash but still pulls at times. Tango knows "sit" and picks up new things quickly with consistent, patient handling. Forever Home Rescue suggests obedience training for all dogs.
