Dolly is the definition of a gentle giant. At first glance, she can look big, intimidating, and fierce — but the moment you meet her, you realize she is one of the softest, sweetest souls you could imagine. She is calm, affectionate, incredibly intelligent, and absolutely loves her people. One of Dolly’s most special qualities is her hugs. She carefully stands up, places her paws gently around your waist, and hugs you so softly and thoughtfully, never throwing her weight against you. Her hugs feel warm, safe, and full of love. Dolly is spayed, vaccinated, kennel trained, and potty trained. She is great with other dogs, sweet with young children, extremely smart, and obedient. She's also a wonderful travel companion and cuddler, even jumping into the bed of a truck on command for kennel travel! What truly makes Dolly extraordinary is her heart. She once helped save abandoned newborn puppies left outside in 103° heat. After unexpectedly taking in two pregnant dogs, Marissa discovered another litter abandoned under an old sofa nearby. Dolly stepped in as a surrogate mother, nurturing and protecting puppies that likely would not have survived without her. She is truly a hero dog. Sadly, Dolly urgently needs placement. One of the resident dogs has become aggressive toward her, and the situation is becoming dangerous. Dolly herself is not the aggressor, but remaining in the home puts her at risk. Marissa still cares for several of Dolly’s now-grown puppies and is overwhelmed trying to manage everything alone. Dolly’s smile will absolutely bring joy into your life. She deserves a family who will cherish the incredible, loving dog she is.
