Journey

Journey is a sweet, approximately 9-10 year old girl with a beautiful red coat and a resilient spirit. She's been through quite the journey, starting with being abandoned and spending weeks avoiding kind people who tried to help. Once she was finally caught, she was understandably fearful at the shelter, cowering and growling. But with a little patience and understanding, a shelter worker gained her trust, and her playful, fun-loving personality began to shine through! Journey is still a bit wary of new people, but she warms up very quickly, usually within five minutes. She has a preference for women and is not comfortable around children, especially younger ones. Journey has been in foster care with Herding Haven for 7 years and is ready for her forever home. She's great with male dogs, provided they have a proper introduction, and is a bit more selective with female dogs. She is house-broken, crate-trained, walks well on a leash, is spayed, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Ideal Home

Journey would do best in a home with a preference for women and no children. She is also selective with female dogs but generally does well with male dogs after a proper introduction.

Journey is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. No other health conditions were noted.

Training & Support

Journey is house-broken, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. She warms up quickly to people she doesn't know, but may initially be a bit wary. Patience and gentle introductions will help her feel secure.
