Katniss

Katniss is a sweet and charming Pit Bull Terrier mix with a delightful set of ears that seem to have a personality all their own! She arrived at our shelter as a stray, accompanied by a canine friend, and has been winning hearts ever since. Katniss is a true people-pleaser who adores attention and pets. While she can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, she warms up quickly and becomes incredibly devoted once you're in her "bestie club." She's a fan of her daily walks and is absolutely thrilled by car rides! Katniss is also a champion couch potato, enjoying a calm and collected lifestyle. She's a smart cookie, knowing commands like "sit" and "down," and has excellent manners when it comes to accepting treats.

Ideal Home

Katniss would thrive in a home where she can shower her humans with affection. She has shown she can do well with older children, provided introductions are handled properly. While she is friendly and social with other dogs after an initial warm-up period, she lacks some social skills and would need very slow introductions to any potential dog siblings. She is not a good fit for a home with cats.

Ongoing Health

Katniss is heartworm negative and has been spayed, vaccinated, and dewormed.

Training & Support

Katniss can be vocal when playing and enjoys using her paws to interact with other dogs. She will benefit from continued gentle guidance as she navigates social interactions with other dogs.
