About Lea

Lea is a very sweet Jack Russell mix who was relinquished when her owner became sick and hospitalized. Lea always had the same owner and lived in a calm environment. She is cautious at first meeting new people, but she is affectionate and loves to play. She loves to meet new dogs and tries to engage in play with a gentle introduction. Lea walks very nicely on leash, but like all Jacks, will chase squirrels and birds if given the chance. She shows no separation anxiety and has not demonstrated any destructive tendencies when left alone uncrated in her foster home. Lea loves to cuddle up to her human, always making body contact. She is currently allowed to sleep in her foster's bed but could possibly be trained to sleep in a crate. Lea is very intelligent, catches on fast, loves to learn, and aims to please her human. She would be a good candidate for agility courses, flyball, or lure coursing. Lea shows absolutely no aggression, has no bite history, and is a wonderful, sweet dog. She rarely barks except when startled. Her experience with cats is unknown, but she has met young children on walks and is very curious and gentle.

Ideal Home

Lea would do well with a couple or single person, a yard to run in, and someone to love and guide her. Another dog in the home would be lovely, but not necessary.

Ongoing Health

No specific health conditions are mentioned.

Training & Support

Lea would benefit from obedience training to strengthen her basic commands (sit, stay, come, down, etc.). She is intelligent and catches on fast, making her eager to learn and please.
