Athena is a 1-year-old spayed female Terrier mix, weighing around 35 pounds. She's a playful, curious, and affectionate young dog with a lot of personality, who loves zoomies and being involved in everything her people are doing. Athena and her siblings were found abandoned in the woods, but she's grown a lot and is catching up on her puppy development now. She needs a home that can provide plenty of outlets for her energy and enrichment needs.
Ideal Home
Athena would thrive in an active home that can provide daily physical exercise and mental enrichment, appropriate chew toys, continued training and structure, social interaction, and companionship. A home committed to continuing her training, structure, and socialization while embracing her fun-loving personality is ideal. While a cat-savvy home with slow introductions might work, a home without cats may be best due to her strong play drive.

Training & Support
Athena knows sit, down, drop it, and come. She is still in a chewing phase and will need plenty of appropriate chew toys and continued guidance. She is actively learning social boundaries with other dogs and is improving every day. Patience and consistency are key as she continues to mature.

- Transports run every few weeks and your dog will be on the next available transport once approved.
- If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
- We are a volunteer-run rescue, and if you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply.
- If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please ensure you have spoken with them and they are on board.
- Our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visits, personal, and vet reference checks are required to complete the process.
Transporation
Athena is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. Transport is included in the adoption donation and is available once she is matched to an adopter.
