Harper

Harper is a sweet, loving 9-year-old, 7 lb. girl who absolutely adores attention and giving kisses. She enjoys lounging on the couch or in her doggy bed, and she sleeps soundly in her own bed on her foster mom's bed. Harper isn't much of a toy player, but she does well in the car, though she tends to shake a bit. She's also comfortable in a crate. Harper occasionally cowers, which might indicate past fear or a difficult experience. She has a cute underbite and recently underwent a dental procedure where 9 teeth were removed; she had some missing prior to this as well, but still has teeth remaining.

Ideal Home

Harper would love a home where she can be showered with affection. Her foster mom uses blankets on furniture and bedding to manage occasional accidents, and any adopter should be prepared for this.

Ongoing Health

Harper has a pocket of fluid pushing on her spinal cord, identified by an MRI, which is the cause of her occasional bowel incontinence. Draining this fluid is considered too risky given her non-severe symptoms. She may develop urinary incontinence over time, and her fecal incontinence could worsen. She is currently not on any medication, and a previous round of steroids did not impact her condition. She also experiences some allergy issues, which have been managed with supplements and a change in food, helping with licking and chewing.

Training & Support

Harper is working on managing her bowel incontinence, which her foster family handles with readily available blankets for easy cleanup.
