Pretzel is a big, lovable boy estimated to be around 1-2 years old and weighing about 72 lbs. He appears to be a bully mix, but as always with rescue, breed and age are our best guess. He's a puppy at heart, eager, smart, and responsive, always looking to do the right thing. His most striking features are his independently functioning ears, his perfectly patterned brindle coat, and a head tilt that's straight out of a cartoon. He's incredibly people-oriented and adoring, leaning into you for connection and clearly looking to his person for guidance. When you show him what you want, especially with a treat, he's a master in no time!
Ideal Home
Pretzel is a puppy in a big body who gets excited and can occasionally jump up and get a bit mouthy. He would benefit from a home that can provide structure, redirection, and consistency. He would do best with a medium-energy dog who can tolerate his learning curve and help show him appropriate play.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Pretzel occasionally jumps up and can be mouthy when excited; this will benefit from structure, redirection, and consistency. He knows how to sit and is very food motivated, which will make training effective and fun. On leash, he is strong and enthusiastic, especially when meeting new dogs, and will pull. He needs a confident handler who can guide him and help him stay focused. With other dogs, he can be a bit pushy and doesn't quite understand boundaries yet, but he understands clear corrections and guidance. He has shown promising curiosity with cats and disengages, even being a perfect gentleman with the resident cat.
