Dagger is a charming and playful 6.5-month-old Retriever/Pit Bull mix with a heart full of cuddles and a spirit full of adventure! She currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. Dagger was rescued from the streets with her mom and siblings and has since grown up in a loving foster home, thriving with care and affection. She earned her name from a distinctive dagger-shaped white marking on her neck and her former sharp puppy teeth, but now she's known for her sweet love nibbles. Dagger is a delightful mix of playful energy and a desire for companionship. She's a talented escape artist who loves to explore but her favorite place is curled up with her person. Confident and curious, Dagger is a social butterfly who enjoys every moment of fun. She's friendly, affectionate, and her tail is always wagging. Dagger enjoys playing with other dogs and has been around children, with whom she's done well.
Ideal Home
Dagger would thrive in an active home that can keep up with her adventurous spirit while also providing plenty of cuddle time. As a talented escape artist, it's important that her future family is aware of her ability to test enclosures. Because Dagger is still a young dog, we prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
Dagger is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. As with any young dog, she is still growing and developing.
Training & Support
Dagger is potty trained and continues to learn about the world. She is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building her confidence, and helping her mature into an exceptional adult dog. Consistent positive reinforcement, ongoing socialization with new people and places, and continued leash practice will help her thrive. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Dagger, as a canine role model can teach appropriate play and communication. If you don't currently have a dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization, which could include training classes, playdates, or daycare.
