Meet Ponderosa, or "Pondsy" as we affectionately call him! This handsome Shepherd/Lab mix is almost 2 years old and weighs around 60 pounds of pure joy and wiggles. Pondsy is the embodiment of sunshine and goofiness, with a soft, shiny black coat and big, warm brown eyes that will melt your heart. When he sees his favorite people, get ready for his signature "Pondsy Wiggle" and a tail that goes into overdrive, always ready for belly rubs! He's a dog who makes every day an adventure, whether he's hiking, going for walks, or simply enjoying a nap in the car. He's still a playful pup, full of curiosity and ready for fun, making him an amazing hiking buddy and a total snuggle bug for downtime.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would thrive in a home with a friendly, medium-energy female dog who enjoys playtime, or as the sole canine companion to soak up all the attention. He is best suited for a home without cats, as they are too enticing for him, and without small children, as they can be overwhelming. Teenagers (13+) and adults will find a deeply devoted and loyal companion in Pondsy. He could adapt to apartment living on the first floor if provided with ample exercise and mental stimulation, but a yard would be an extra bonus for his zoomies!
Ongoing Health
Pondsy has undergone leg surgery and has completed physical therapy. While his back leg has a unique character now, it doesn't hinder his love for running, playing, and zooming.
Training & Support
Pondsy is a well-rounded pup thanks to our on-site trainers who work on crate training, potty training, and leash walking. He is confident and ready for his forever home.

Transporation
Pondsy is currently in Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our USDA certified transport system, ensuring safe and comfortable travel with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick-up is in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
