Ladybug, approximately 10 years old, is a sweet Boxer/Pug mix with a touch of Beagle independence. She and her bonded companion, Leo, are looking for a loving home together after their previous owner could no longer care for them. Ladybug is more independent but enjoys cuddling, and her foster mom suspects she may have some Beagle in her, which explains her enthusiastic sniffing on walks. She's a fun-loving girl who enjoys games of tug-of-war and chasing toys.
Ideal Home
Ladybug would thrive in a home where she feels safe and secure, especially during thunderstorms and loud noises. She is house-trained and will alert you when she needs to go out. While generally good when left alone, she can be tempted by napkins, Kleenex, or wastebaskets if left accessible. She also has a habit of eating her own stool, which her foster mom is managing with dietary changes. Ladybug enjoys walks but can get excitable and bark when hearing other dogs. She also dislikes vacuum cleaners.
Ongoing Health
Ladybug is spayed. She has a few lumps and bumps, and occasionally gags without producing anything. She also snores quite a bit.
Training & Support
Ladybug is house-trained and will signal when she needs to go outside. She needs continued positive reinforcement to help her resist eating her own stool and to manage her barking at other dogs. She can be stubborn, so patience and consistency will be key. Loud noises, including thunder, lightning, and sudden noises from the TV or excited reactions during programs, can frighten her. It is important to approach her with gentleness, as she may be fearful of sudden movements or loud corrections due to past potential neglect or abuse.
