At around 7 years old and 50 pounds, Budgie has found the perfect balance between playful and relaxed. She still gets the occasional burst of excitement; those long hound legs can get a little bouncy when she's happy, but she settles down quickly and is just as content spending the afternoon curled up beside you for belly rubs or napping under a shady tree. Budgie is an easy dog to love. She is sweet, affectionate, and gentle. She is great with other dogs and excellent in the car. Budgie is also crate trained, housetrained, and good on a leash. She is calm for baths and nail trims, and has no food or toy aggression. She is not a digger or fence jumper.
Ideal Home
Budgie hasn't had the opportunity to be around children while in foster care, but her calm, easygoing temperament makes us think she'd do well with respectful kids. She has also shown interest in cats, mostly out of curiosity, so with slow introductions we believe she has the potential to adjust well.
Ongoing Health
Budgie has been thoroughly vetted and is ready to start her next chapter. She is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. She had a healthy exam with excellent bloodwork. She wore down her front teeth sometime before coming into rescue, giving her the cutest little gummy grin. The good news is her back teeth are in great shape, her veterinarian found no dental work was needed, and she's perfectly happy showing off that unique smile every chance she gets.

Budgie is already crate trained and housetrained, and is good on a leash. She is calm for baths and nail trims, and has no food or toy aggression. She is not a digger or fence jumper.

- We require a meet and greet with all potential adopters.
- A virtual home visit and a vet reference (if applicable) are also required.
- Symbiotic Inc. has a required minimum $360 adoption donation, which is tax-deductible.
- All dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots, wormed, microchipped, heartworm tested, and on preventative before adoption.
- This also includes a one-hour virtual training with Lucky Dogs Training to ensure a seamless transition for both you and your new pup!

Budgie is located in Suffolk. We can discuss transportation options once your application is approved.
