Potato is a sweet 2-year-old Chihuahua who weighs about 16 pounds. He was recently surrendered and has been fully vetted. Potato loves people and is good with some cats and dogs, but not all. He seems to do well with other small dogs, but has shown some conflict with larger dogs. His previous owners had photos of him with a larger dog, so we're still learning what criteria make him comfortable with some dogs and not others. Potato can be protective of his crate and food when other dogs are around.
Potato is a cuddly pup who is well-housetrained and does great in his crate. He's also playful and enjoys zooming around! He has never had an accident inside and has not lifted his leg indoors. However, Potato can be a barker, especially when he can see passersby from a window. He doesn't bark in his crate or when left alone, but he can be vocal at home when he sees something outside.
Ideal Home
Potato would do best in a home where he has some supervision around other dogs, as we are still learning his preferences. He needs a home that can manage his barking, especially if he has a clear view of the outdoors.
Ongoing Health
Potato has been fully vetted. He was unneutered upon arrival but has since had his neuter procedure.
Training & Support
Potato is well-housetrained and does great in his crate. He can be protective of his crate and food, which is something to be mindful of around other dogs. We recommend a 2-week shutdown period and positive-based training classes, for which a rebate is offered.
