Cricket and Mochi are a bonded pair, overcoming hardships and ready for their forever home, together. These sweet, gentle, and loving girls have a story to tell, filled with resilience and the promise of a bright future.
Cricket, an approximately 8-year-old, 13 lb Chihuahua, is a sensitive soul who has bravely faced and overcome a large hernia and a damaged eye, now living pain-free. Initially shy, Cricket blossoms with affection once she trusts her humans, melting into soft cuddles and belly rubs. She draws confidence from her best friend, Mochi, and their bond is a beautiful testament to their shared journey. Cricket's highlights include her sweet and gentle nature, her reliance on Mochi for confidence, a love for bully sticks, and a preference for shredded chicken mixed with her kibble.
Mochi, a 7+ year old, 14 lb Wire-Haired Terrier Mix, presents a perpetually charming grumpy face that belies her calm, affectionate, and loving nature. She's the more confident of the pair, often watching over Cricket. Mochi has had several benign masses removed and is currently happy and feeling great, though she may develop more in the future. She also has a heart murmur, for which she is on medication and remains asymptomatic. Mochi is a cuddle bug who loves frozen Kongs and is great on a leash.
Ideal Home
Cricket and Mochi are seeking a calm and stable home where they can continue to thrive together. A fenced yard is required, and they would not be suited for apartment living as Cricket is still building confidence on leash. Ideally, their new home would not have small children, but they are dog-friendly, especially with calm and respectful canine companions. While they are approximately 90% housebroken, Mochi is still working on her house-training. Both girls are crate trained.
Ongoing Health
Mochi has a heart murmur and is on medication, though she is asymptomatic. She has also had benign masses removed and may develop more in the future. Cricket has successfully undergone treatment for a large hernia and a damaged eye.
Training & Support
Cricket is still building confidence on leash and Mochi is working on her house-training. They both benefit greatly from Mochi's confidence, and their bond provides them with security and comfort.
