Big Poppa is a 6-year-old, 70-pound pit bull with the sweetest soul and the biggest heart. He came to us about six weeks ago from a truly heartbreaking situation — facing being dumped or worse — but thanks to an incredible foster stepping up, his story took a turn for the better. Despite a rough past, you would never know it when you meet him. Big Poppa is pure joy. He’s happy, loving, and greets the world with a wagging tail and an open heart. He’s recently been neutered and has already lost about 10 pounds, making him look extra handsome and feeling so much better. Big Poppa is the kind of dog who changes minds about the breed. He’s gentle, affectionate, and just wants to be near his people. Whether you’re heading out for a walk or settling in for a Netflix binge, he’s your guy. Big Poppa is friendly with everyone and lives happily with both big and small dogs.

His joints and teeth show signs of a life likely spent outdoors with little comfort. He was recently neutered and has lost about 10 pounds.

Training & Support

Big Poppa loves walks and does great in the car. He is a world-class cuddler and just wants to be near his people.
