About Jack

Jack is an 8-month-old, 35lb Lab Mix with a heart full of kindness. He's a bit of a wallflower, needing time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he's the most devoted companion imaginable. Jack is a "slow to trust, loyal forever" kind of pup who is still learning that the world is a safe and wonderful place. Luckily, he's incredibly treat-motivated, making training and bonding a breeze. Once comfortable, his true personality shines through, and he loves nothing more than cozy snuggles. He's also discovered the joy of playing in the snow! Jack gets along beautifully with his foster siblings, a dog named Addy and a cat named Socks, so he'd do well in a home with other gentle pets.

Ideal Home

Jack needs a home outside of the city, in the suburbs or beyond. He is described as a "wallflower" with new people and takes a while to warm up. He can be shy on walks, and is eager to get back home. He is a bit unsure about animals like squirrels and birds, so he may not be a good match for a home with small pets.

Ongoing Health

Jack is healthy and up-to-date on all his vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies). He has been neutered and microchipped, and was treated with dewormer upon intake.

Training & Support

Jack is still learning, but is very treat-motivated. He is working on his mouthing behavior and likes to chew on things he shouldn't, like shoes and furniture. He is getting the hang of leash manners and responds to corrections. Jack is fully crate-trained and does not exhibit separation anxiety.
