Birdie is a 7.5-year-old, 15-pound female pug who is looking for a calm and predictable home where she can continue to feel safe and loved. She was a breeder release and has come a long way in her foster home, learning to enjoy toys and bones! Birdie is a gentle soul who prefers quiet companionship and doesn't rush into things. She shows her affection through sweet kisses and happy wiggles once she feels comfortable and trusts you, which makes the bond all the more special. Most of her days are spent napping contentedly nearby, enjoying her soft bed or a cozy blanket. She is house-trained and crate-trained and generally does well with children, though she does take her time warming up to new people. A predictable routine and gentle handling are key to her happiness.
Ideal Home
Birdie thrives in a low-key, predictable environment. She does best with other dogs, and a canine companion with a relaxed energy would be ideal for her. Busy or chaotic homes may be overwhelming. While a fenced yard is preferred, it's not strictly required and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the adoption coordinator.
Ongoing Health
Birdie has some manageable digestive sensitivities that are currently well-controlled with a thoughtfully chosen diet, a consistent feeding schedule, and a calm mealtime routine. With this structure in place, she feels good and does well day to day. Her foster family will happily share her care plan to ensure a smooth transition.
Training & Support
Birdie is about 98% potty trained and has done wonderfully with consistent access to a yard. She has also improved significantly with her crate training and settles nicely. Birdie benefits from patient humans who allow her to approach them on her own terms. Her foster family will review her routine and care plan with potential adopters to ensure continued success.
