A little about them

Stanley, affectionately known as “Stan the Man,” is a confident, affectionate Great Pyrenees/Akbash mix who believes everyone is a friend. After being rescued from severe neglect, he has remained trusting, gentle, and eager to enjoy life with his people.

Stanley is friendly, cheerful, and devoted. He enjoys being included in everyday activities, walks beautifully on leash, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and has lived comfortably around children. Cats are still a little mysterious to him, and he may be more intimidated by them than they are by him. He is also gentle when taking treats and enjoys relaxing near his people.

Ideal Home

Stanley is looking for a loving indoor home where he can be a true member of the family—not a backyard dog. He would love a family who will include him in walks, errands, time outdoors, and everyday companionship.

Ongoing Health

Stanley is slightly underweight, but otherwise has no known medical concerns. His coat and the hair around his neck are recovering beautifully after his rescue. He will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and current on preventative care before adoption.

Training & Support

Stanley is house-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and accepts grooming and handling—including baths, nail trims, and a high-velocity dryer—with quiet patience.
