Meet Zelie, a precious five-year-old Chihuahua with a heart full of stories and a soul as gentle as the French Acadian country she calls home. Having been found wandering on her own, she arrived at Take Paws Rescue carrying the cautious grace of a girl who has seen a few too many miles. Because she has had a difficult start, Zelie is very scared when she first meets new people. She will need some time and a quiet space to decompress and come around on her own, but if you are patient and willing to let her move at her own pace, you will be rewarded with a loyal friend. She just needs the time she requires to feel truly safe.
Once Zelie realizes she is in a loving, secure environment, her initial shyness melts away like morning dew. She blossoms into a devoted little shadow, eager to find her place on your lap and offer the quiet, comforting companionship that makes her age so special. She isn't looking for high-energy adventures or wild games; she is simply searching for a "soft landing" and a warm, steady presence. Whether you are looking for a partner for quiet coffee mornings or a calm friend to share a slow afternoon on the porch, Zelie is the perfect, pint-sized companion. She has spent her life being brave in a big world, and now she is waiting for someone special to be her hero and show her that her wandering days are finally over.
Ideal Home
Zelie needs a patient and understanding home where she can decompress in a quiet space. She thrives with a warm, steady presence and is looking for a "soft landing."
