Meet Oscar! He's a handsome 4-year-old Boxer/Mountain Cur mix with a glossy black-and-tan coat and the most expressive eyes that just light up when he's happy. Weighing in at about 53 pounds, Oscar is an athletic and loving companion who absolutely adores being outdoors, sniffing out new adventures, and playing amongst the fallen leaves. He's a smart boy, eager to please, and forms very deep bonds with his humans. Oscar thrives with a predictable routine, gentle encouragement, and lots of positive reinforcement. Once he feels secure and trusts you, his loyalty knows no bounds, and he's content to simply relax near you after a fun walk or playtime.

Ideal Home

Oscar does best in a calm, structured environment where his boundaries are respected and he can feel safe. He would thrive in a home without children.

Ongoing Health

Oscar has been working with a veterinary behaviorist for anxiety and fear-based behaviors. He is currently on a behavior-support plan that includes medication and training, which has significantly helped him to relax and enjoy life more.

Training & Support

Oscar's ideal adopter will be someone experienced with dogs who have anxiety or fear issues, and who can continue his care with patience and consistency.
