Smokey is a handsome 2-year-old male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who weighs 53 pounds. He came to us as a stray and is now fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and eagerly awaiting his forever family! Smokey has a low to moderate energy level. He enjoys playful romps with his canine companions and loves a good game of chase. When it's time to relax, he's a total couch potato, happy to snuggle up and watch a show with his foster mom. Smokey is described as super sweet, kind-hearted, affectionate, and a quick learner with a gentle nature and friendly personality. He's a loyal companion who just wants to be part of a family and provide quiet companionship.
Ideal Home
Smokey would thrive in a home with someone who works from home or is only away for a few hours a day. He would also do well in a home with a doggie companion, as he loves playing with other dogs and is very submissive during play. Smokey would thrive in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people. Smokey would prefer a home without cats. He does have some separation anxiety and cries when left alone, so an apartment setting may not be ideal.

Training & Support
Smokey is fully potty trained and only does his business outside. He walks great on a leash, though he can be a little nervous around strangers and may bark out of excitement, but he is easily redirected. He might pull slightly at first due to excitement but settles down quickly. Smokey is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut inside. He does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he doesn't tear anything up and eventually stops crying.
