Sandy would thrive in a home with at least one other dog, as having canine companions helps build her confidence. A secure, fenced yard is a must for her to safely explore and settle in. Due to her skittishness around sudden movements, she would do best in a home with older, respectful children who can give her the space she needs.

Ongoing Health

Sandy is fully vetted, including DAPP vaccination with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and a microchip with free lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Sandy is fully crate trained and 100% potty trained, with no accidents in foster care. She walks beautifully on a leash, remaining non-reactive to distractions, and enjoys short car rides. While not highly treat-motivated, she adores Colby Jack cheese. She is quiet and rarely barks, making her ideal for a peaceful home. She enjoys affection on her own terms, with chin scratches, head rubs, and chest massages being her favorites. Her new family will need to be patient and provide a stable, supportive environment to help her continue building confidence.

Sandy is located in the Greater Houston area, Texas. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area. Transport may be available to other locations with an $87 surcharge.
