Loki is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix with an estimated DOB of January 2026. He currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. Loki is the fearless ringleader of his litter, always the first to investigate something new and enthusiastically announcing his presence. He's brave, bold, and endlessly entertaining, approaching life with confidence, curiosity, and a sense of adventure. Loki is an expert climber and loves to play keep-away with his favorite toys. He's potty trained, though occasional accidents may occur as he adjusts to a new routine. While generally fearless, he can be a little hesitant with brand-new experiences, but he quickly overcomes it. Loki loves food and will happily claim his spot at the front of the line. Despite his energetic antics, he has a very sweet side and loves to snuggle after a day of adventures. He's good with people and other dogs and has greeted children positively. He has also spent some time in a crate and does well, though he's not crated for extended periods due to his age. Loki is eager to learn and is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. He's looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners and building his confidence.
Ideal Home
We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Loki. If you don't currently have a dog, please provide a plan for continued socialization. We also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time, as Loki will benefit from regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, training, and human interaction.
Ongoing Health
Loki is a healthy young dog.
Training & Support
Loki is potty trained, but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new home. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization is important for building his confidence.
