Charlie is an 18-month-old Siberian Husky with a bubbly, outgoing personality and a love for people. He's a happy-go-lucky dog who enjoys attention, outdoor activities, and spending time with his humans. Charlie came into rescue as an emaciated stray and required extensive medical treatment, including heartworm treatment and bilateral knee surgeries for cruciate ligament tears in both legs. Despite everything he has been through, he has remained incredibly sweet, social, and resilient. He has a higher energy level but is able to settle well after exercise and enrichment. Charlie is crate trained and would benefit from continued obedience training and structure in his adoptive home. Charlie has done well with female dogs in the past but does not do well with male dogs. Any resident dogs would require a meet and greet prior to adoption. Due to his rambunctious nature, he would likely do best with older children (approximately 14+). Charlie is looking for an active, loving home that will continue helping him thrive after such a difficult start to life. Please no cats or small animals.
Ideal Home
Charlie would thrive in an active, loving home. Due to his rambunctious nature, he would likely do best with older children (approximately 14+). He cannot live in a home with cats or small animals.
Ongoing Health
Because of his previous knee injuries and surgeries, Charlie will need lifelong glucosamine supplementation and may require arthritis or pain management earlier in life than some dogs. Charlie is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Charlie is crate trained and would benefit from continued obedience training and structure in his adoptive home. He has done well with female dogs in the past but does not do well with male dogs, so any resident dogs would require a meet and greet prior to adoption.
