Marlin (26-203)

Marlin is a sweet 7-month-old male dog who arrived at Char-Wills as a stray from Louisiana. He's a gentle soul who is learning to trust and blossom. Marlin enjoys a good game of chase and loves to splash in water. While he can be a little hesitant in new situations, his confidence is growing every day. He walks nicely on leash and has made great progress with commands like "sit," "down," and "heel." Marlin is house-trained and responds well to calm, consistent leadership.

Ideal Home

Marlin would do best with patient adopters who understand that building trust takes time. A confident dog companion could help him continue building confidence. Older, dog-savvy children would likely be a better fit than very young children, whose quick movements may overwhelm him. He is not a fan of toilet water and it is recommended to keep the toilet seat down.

Ongoing Health

Marlin is up to date on vaccinations and has been neutered. He is in good health and has no known medical conditions.

Training & Support

Marlin is working on his separation anxiety, which is currently rated 8/10. He can become frantic when left alone but calms down after 5-10 minutes. He seems to strongly favor one individual and may need help balancing attention from multiple handlers. While he generally takes corrections positively, he did growl at a wreath and bark at a neighbor's dog, possibly out of excitement. Sudden movements and sounds can startle him, but he is not bothered by thunder, motorcycles, or delivery trucks.
