Sassy is a sweet, mellow, and playful girl with a lot of love to give! She's about 3-4 years old and weighs around 40 lbs. Sassy can be a bit timid and shy at first, but with kindness and patience, she blossoms into a happy and friendly companion. She enjoys playing and running and has a healthy energy level that she loves to share with other dogs. While she's generally quiet unless other dogs are barking, she does bark when she hears something out of place and can get concerned by cars or things charging at her, wanting to retreat to her safe space. She is observant and cautious in new environments, and because of her skittishness with sudden movements or loud noises, she does best on a leash in public spaces. Sassy is affectionate, not destructive, and doesn't suffer from separation anxiety. She enjoys roughhousing, especially with male dogs, and loves squeaky toys. She adores kisses on the nose once she trusts you and has a uniquely cute face she knows how to use to her advantage.
Ideal Home
Sassy would thrive in a home with a compassionate heart, where she can gain confidence at her own pace. She gets along with other dogs and children, and has been okay with chickens. We don't have experience with her around cats.
Ongoing Health
Sassy was previously heartworm positive but has been treated and is now on monthly prevention.
Training & Support
Sassy could use some support in building her confidence. She knows how to sit and is working on her lay down command. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She walks well on a leash until she is spooked.
