About Goyito
Goyito is a small dog with a big heart! This approximately 3–4-year-old, 12 lb Schnauzer mix is cheerful, playful, affectionate, and incredibly loving. He's always ready to share kisses and cuddles, and he gets along wonderfully with other dogs, children, men, and women. When he first meets new people, he might be a little nervous and bark, but it doesn't take long for his sweet personality to shine through once he feels safe. Goyito's past was marked by abandonment and a car accident, but despite these hardships, he has maintained a joyful spirit and an incredible capacity for love. Now, he's safe, playful, obedient, and brimming with affection. All he needs is a family to call his own, someone who will never leave him. Adopting Goyito means offering peace to a soul that never stopped believing in love.
Ideal Home
Goyito would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard. He'd love an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a genuine intention to rescue and provide a loving home. Families with an understanding of the needs of rescued street animals, especially their need for protection and education, are ideal. Experience with dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly desired. A high tolerance and patience for a rescued pup are also essential.
Ongoing Health
Goyito has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated with DHPPI and Rabies, and treated for Bordetella. He is dewormed, microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. He is up-to-date on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventives for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Goyito is not currently house-trained, which is common for rescued animals as it's a major undertaking for shelters to provide this training. Patience and understanding are crucial for helping him adjust and learn. He may need time to overcome past fears and anxieties and build trust. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help him feel secure.
