Meet Brunson, the big-hearted sweetheart! At just 2 years old and 25 pounds, Brunson is proof that some dogs are born with hearts too big for the world they've been given. He was abandoned behind a government building in Puerto Rico, where he spent over a month trying to survive on his own. The wooded area behind the building was home to packs of other dogs, and because Brunson is naturally so friendly, he constantly tried to make friends. Sadly, many of those encounters ended with him being attacked. Again and again, he approached other dogs with a wagging tail, never understanding why they didn't want to play. Despite everything he endured, Brunson never stopped believing that kindness existed. When rescuers finally reached him, they found a dog who was still eager for affection, still hopeful, and still ready to trust.
Today, Brunson is living in foster care in Puerto Rico, and he has blossomed into the sweetest companion imaginable. He is incredibly affectionate and happiest when he's curled up next to his people. He's a laid-back, sleepy boy who would much rather spend the afternoon cuddling on the couch than causing any trouble. He loves everyone he meets and gets along beautifully with kids, cats, and other dogs. His foster describes him as the kind of dog who simply wants to love and be loved. After everything he's been through, Brunson deserves a family that will never leave him behind again.
