Meet Juice (though his foster calls him Joey!), a handsome, 4-year-old, 56 lb Black Mouth Cur mix with eyes that could melt your heart. Juice is a sweet and charming boy who's been through a lot and is now dreaming of a calm and loving home where he can finally relax and be someone's best friend. He's a cuddly companion who adores his toys, but his favorite pastime is simply being by your side, resting his head or paw on you as his own special way of showing affection. While he can be a bit shy with new people, a slow and gentle approach helps him build trust, and once he does, he's incredibly loyal and devoted.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home with patient, soft-spoken adults who understand that healing takes time. He needs a home without cats, as he is known to chase them. He would be happiest as the only dog in the household, where he can soak up all the attention without the stress of other animals.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression with other dogs, but with routine and stability, he has made great progress and now eats separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, which can be managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice is still working on his leash manners, as he tends to pull when excited. Harsh corrections can make him fearful, so patience and kindness are key to his training. He is always crated when left alone due to his love for chewing, and he is mostly potty trained, though occasional accidents can happen. He sleeps well in his crate overnight. Juice does great in the car but might need a little help hopping in.
