Meet Hatchi!

Hatchi is a soulful, young adult Akita/Siberian Husky mix with a majestic tricolor coat and a loyal, tender heart. This 90-pound boy is still adjusting to life with only one working eye due to stabilized glaucoma. While he may see shadows, sudden movements can startle him, especially on walks. He's strong on leash and can be reactive to dogs, cats, bikes, and cars. Despite these challenges, Hatchi is a sweet, snuggly companion who melts into affection and is eager to please, especially with treats! He responds to his name, is crate trained, house-trained, and has lived harmoniously with children aged 7 and 8. He may do well with a calm, female dog companion, but is not compatible with cats.

Ideal Home

Hatchi needs a confident, experienced caregiver who can help him feel grounded and secure. A fenced yard is essential for his safety due to his Husky instincts and curiosity.

Ongoing Health

Hatchi will need daily eye drops for the rest of his life, which is manageable due to his love of treats. He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Hatchi is reactive to stimuli on walks and needs a caregiver comfortable with large breeds and skilled in positive reinforcement and patient training. He looks to his human for reassurance, and with the right support, he has the potential to blossom.
