About Chance

Meet Chance!

Chance is a 7-year-old, 95-pound Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler mix with a calm and laid-back presence. He's a handsome, large boy with a dark brown and tan coat who loves being a gentle guardian of both the backyard and the couch. His striking eyes have a way of making every day feel a little more peaceful.

Ideal Home

Chance thrives in a family environment and gets along wonderfully with children. He truly loves being near his people, whether he's resting at your feet, supervising dinner prep, or softly snoring in his crate. A cozy indoor sleeping space is a must for this devoted companion.

Ongoing Health

Chance has recently started thyroid medication, and the positive changes have been remarkable, leading to increased energy and playfulness. His coat is also improving, with hair growing back on his tail, indicating the treatment is helping him feel his best. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and has transferable pet insurance.

Training & Support

Chance is house-trained and politely lets you know when it's time for a potty break. He settles very well when left alone. He benefits from clear boundaries and structured routines, especially around food, as he is ruled by his nose. He enjoys relaxed daily walks, including long 'sniffaris.' He knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, stay, down, come, roll over, shake, go lay down, walk fast, and “time for bed.” He is not a frequent barker but will offer a big alert if someone approaches. He requires regular grooming, including care for his extra dewclaws.
