Ernie

Meet Ernie! This 1.5-year-old terrier mix is ready to capture your heart with his soulful brown eyes, little roars, impressive sploots, and tappy toes. When he's not a playful whirlwind, Ernie loves to snuggle up close, nuzzle into your neck, sleep in tiny puppy balls, and observe the world with a calm demeanor. He's a fantastic road trip companion and generally loves meeting new people.

Ideal Home

Ernie would thrive in a calm, low-stress environment. Due to his high prey drive, he is not recommended for homes with cats or smaller animals. His energy is best suited for a home with older children.

Ongoing Health

Ernie has been diagnosed with a mild/grade 1 luxating patella in both back knees. This means long walks aren't ideal for him. Multiple short walks throughout the day, followed by plenty of couch snuggles, are perfect for Ernie.

Training & Support

Ernie is working on his manners and impulse control, especially when overstimulated. He requires ongoing management and training to help him harness his terrier instincts. He can be a bit hesitant around men and may bark initially. Slow, calm introductions with plenty of positive reinforcement (yummy treats!) will help him feel more comfortable.
