Are you into the “bad boy?” Looking for a project? Cue the fans and the music. Look no further than me, Royce! I’m a himbo, a fully-bully boy that is here to break your heart. I will love all over you for a little bit, then ignore you the other 23 hours of the day. When you call me, I won’t respond – heck, I won’t even acknowledge that I’ve heard you – unless you have a special something to offer me (and even then I give you no guarantees as I have my own agenda). Don’t get me wrong, I have SOME manners: I pee where I’m supposed to, I’m rarely destructive, and I am usually willing to get into my crate (see note above about offering me a treat). I am highly social – I like people and pups – but I dominate in most relationships and others might need time to adjust to my machismo and charisma. I’ll take walks with you, but I’ll be in charge, walking way ahead of you letting everyone around me enjoy the eye candy that is Royce. I’m not one to brag much, but I’m a male model: Mr. August in a calendar! But I’m looking for a good wing man or woman. I hope you’re strong emotionally and physically, because though I won’t give you the time of day, I’ll chase down those gorgeous squirrels and bunnies! I’m all man so I’ll protect you from other dogs, thunderstorms, and fireworks. I find yelling at them usually makes them go away. And I’ll guard the fence line diligently. Like all bad boys however, I will not help you with housework: I will complain very loudly about vacuums, brooms, mops, or any other cleaning apparatus that comes within my sight. I’m bad enough to have been to prison even, so a fenced in yard would be a good idea. Like most bad boys, I’m complicated, and I do have a softer side - I love nothing more than a game of bubbles. Ideal Home

A strong, emotionally and physically capable owner. A fenced-in yard is a must. Royce is not an outdoor-only dog.

Training & Support

Royce has some manners, including house-training and being crate-trained (with a treat incentive). He does not respond to his name unless motivated by a treat. He tends to dominate other pets and may need time to adjust. He is afraid of vacuums, brooms, mops, and similar cleaning equipment.

• Your adoption fee of $150 includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, a wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip.
• Out-of-state adoptions are possible with vet references and a video home check.
• The adopter is responsible for all transportation to and from the rescue, and for returning the pet if the adoption does not work out.
