Bailey-Sue is a 4-year-old, 57lb spayed female pittie mix who is playful, affectionate, and brave. She came to us from the Houston shelter after surviving physical abuse. While it took months for her to trust again, her resilience and gentle spirit now shine through, and she is a pure love once she opens up. Bailey adores children and currently lives with kids from 3 to 17 years old, showing great gentleness and patience. She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping through the night soundly. Bailey has excellent manners, never showing food or toy guarding. She enjoys chew toys, car rides, and spending time with her people. When meeting new people or dogs, she can be cautious and may bark or seem unsure, but this is rooted in fear, not aggression. With love, patience, and structure, Bailey blossoms into a loyal and trusting companion.
Ideal Home
Bailey needs a patient, loving home that understands she may take time to feel safe and confident. She has done best with dogs around 30-80 lbs and may thrive with a calm male dog who can match her energy and help her feel confident. Slow introductions are key to her success.
Ongoing Health
Bailey has no ongoing health conditions to be aware of at this time.
Training & Support
Bailey is house-trained and crate-trained. She is still working on leash walking and may need a few reminders if she heads out full of excitement. Continued leash work will help her be her best self.
