Meet Butterscotch, a sweet 5-year-old English Bulldog mix who has been through a lot but is ready for a fresh start! She arrived in rough shape, with neglected nails, sore feet, skin infections, old C-section scars, a hernia, and painful, long-term ear infections and chronic dry eye. Her eyes were so irritated she could barely see, but thanks to immediate veterinary care and ongoing treatment with eye drops and medication, she's feeling much better. Unfortunately, her ears are so inflamed that she will need surgery to remove her ear canals to live a life free from pain.
Butterscotch is a petite girl, weighing around 37 lbs. She's gentle, easy-going, and loves short, leisurely strolls followed by plenty of naps. She's made friends with other gentle dogs at the shelter and enjoys snoozing on dog beds, though her adorable snoring might keep other pups awake!
Ideal Home
Butterscotch would thrive in a home that understands the needs of bulldogs and can provide her with the specialized care she requires. She enjoys quiet company and her current preference is for low, short strolls.
Ongoing Health
Butterscotch has several ongoing health needs. She is currently being treated for chronic dry eye with long-term eye drops. She will require surgery to remove her ear canals to address painful, inflamed ears. The cost of this surgery is a significant consideration for potential adopters.
Training & Support
Butterscotch is a generally easy-going girl. While she enjoys the company of other gentle dogs, her snoring may be a factor for some households. She will need ongoing support and care to manage her medical conditions.
