Queen Bessie is a sweet and intuitive girl who absolutely adores cuddles on the couch and booty scratches. She's always checking in on her people and wants to know if you need anything! Bessie was rescued from a crowded county shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding. She's looking for a forever home where she'll be loved unconditionally. Could it be yours?
Ideal Home
Bessie would love a home where she can have plenty of couch time and cuddle sessions. She also enjoys roughhousing and has a best buddy named Draco, with whom she loves to play and nap. We don't know how Bessie would do with cats or children.

- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
- Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
- Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
- Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
- All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!

Queen Bessie is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee! Please note that pickup locations for transported dogs may vary and could be in a nearby town, county, or state.
