OTIS

Otis is a handsome black Labrador Retriever mix with soft brown eyes and a build that shows just how much growing he still has left to do. At 10 months old, this sweet boy is expected to grow into a solid 55 to 65 pounds as he matures into adulthood. Otis is a little unsure of himself at first in the shelter environment, but it only takes him a few minutes to relax and let his true, sweet nature shine through. He already knows sit and down, showing that he is smart, willing to learn, and eager to connect with the people around him once he feels comfortable. For anyone willing to be patient during those first few minutes, Otis offers a wonderful reward - watching him settle in and open up is a genuinely special thing to witness. Dogs like Otis often blossom beautifully once they are given the stability and consistency of a real home, away from the noise and unpredictability of a shelter. Otis will be neutered prior to adoption and is up to date on vaccines. He is also heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Otis knows "sit" and "down". As he is still young, consistency and positive reinforcement will help him continue to learn and thrive. Since Otis arrived as a stray, his history with children and other pets is unknown. A meet & greet with resident pets is recommended.
