Despite being 9.5 years old, Ernie still has plenty of pep in his step. His foster family quickly learned that "senior" doesn't mean slowing down. Somehow, he's always first to greet you, first down the stairs, and first to investigate anything new. One minute he's curled up under a blanket, and the next he's ready to see what adventure the day has planned.
Ernie is affectionate, loyal, and loves being part of the action. He's happiest when he has people to keep company and a yard to explore, where he proudly completes his daily patrol before checking in to make sure everyone else is doing just fine. His foster family is convinced that behind that scruffy little Chi-Poo exterior is an oversized Chihuahua personality full of confidence, charm, and just the right amount of sass.
Ernie would thrive in a home where he can soak up all the attention as the only dog. He loves his people and enjoys being the centre of their world. He does take heart medication, which is easily managed with two pills each day, and his ideal home includes a secure fenced yard, plenty of cozy blankets, and a family who appreciates a dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart.
