I'm Chyla, a 2-year-old American Bully mix weighing 37 pounds. My tri-colored coat makes me look like a miniature Rottweiler and hound rolled into one, and I'm the perfect medium size – big enough for adventures and small enough to fit right in at home. I recently came to the shelter because my previous family no longer had the time to care for me. Imagine waking up one day and suddenly everything you know is gone: your family, your home, your routine – replaced by unfamiliar people, barking dogs, and a place that never seems to quiet down. I'll be honest, I'm scared. When people walk by my kennel, I bark and growl. It's not because I'm a bad dog, but because I'm overwhelmed and trying to cope with a world that changed overnight. The people who knew me best told the shelter that I'm house-trained, crate-trained, and ride well in the car. These are wonderful qualities that don't disappear just because I'm having a hard time in the shelter. I'm looking for someone who understands that dogs don't come with an "on" switch. Every dog needs time to settle into a new environment, learn a new routine, and build trust. With patience, kindness, and consistency, I know I'll become the loyal companion I've always been. I've never lived with other animals before, so if you have a dog at home, come for a meet-and-greet to make sure we're a good fit. If you've ever looked past a first impression and discovered something amazing, I hope you'll do the same for me. I may not be putting my best paw forward today, but I know my best days are still ahead. All I need is someone willing to give me that chance.

Training & Support
I am house-trained and crate-trained. I also ride well in the car. I am a bit scared and vocal in the shelter environment, but this is due to being overwhelmed, not bad behavior.
