Rusty

Rusty is a spunky 4-5 year old, 50lb, neutered male Black Mouth Cur Shepherd mix who is looking for his forever home! He's up-to-date on all his shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Rusty loves to play, and his favorite games involve keep away and chasing. He's a friendly guy who is dog-friendly with medium and large breeds, both male and female. He could be a wonderful only dog or have a canine companion. While his history with cats is unknown, he's generally well-behaved.

Ideal Home

Rusty would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard, as he is not off-leash trained and would not be a good apartment dog. He would do well with a single person, a couple, or a family with children over 10 years old, as his exuberance might knock over a younger child. He enjoys being included in daily family activities and adventures. No tie-outs or electric fences are permitted.

Ongoing Health

Rusty is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Rusty knows his basic commands and is motivated by food and treats. While he had potty accidents in the past according to shelter records, he has been perfect in his foster home, is fully potty trained, and crate trained.
