Susie is a regal lady with a heart full of kindness. She's an estimated 4-5 years young and carries the gentle spirit of a survivor. Susie came to us from a local shelter with a friend who, sadly, was not able to be rescued. Though Susie has had a tough life and arrived underweight, she's on the road to recovery. Her estimated 60 lbs will soon be a healthier, happier weight with a goal of gaining about 10 more pounds. Her breed is a mystery, but her beautiful looks suggest a possible Pyrenees mix, blended with a touch of many other breeds. She's incredibly sweet and has shown herself to be excellent with other dogs, displaying a non-confrontational nature. Susie is friendly with everyone, but she's working on building her confidence, as it's clear she hasn't always known kindness. She bonds quickly and deeply with those who show her love, as if she's been longing for companionship. Susie will be participating in the Paws in Prison program for 8 weeks, starting 6/22, to further polish her already great manners, learn basic commands, and boost her confidence. We're hoping to find her a loving forever home by the time she graduates!

Ongoing Health
Susie is heartworm positive and will be treated for this. She is also underweight and needs to gain approximately 10 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Susie is participating in the Paws in Prison program to enhance her confidence and basic commands. She is already a quick learner and has excellent manners.

Transportation
Susie is currently located in Arkansas and is available to adopters within Arkansas. Transport is also available to New England adopters. Adopters will need to be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NJ, or CT on Saturdays.
