Fig is a gorgeous and funny girl, so full of life now that she has gained weight and is feeling better! She was originally found as a stray in Rockmart, emaciated and in need of medical care and love. Thankfully, she got her Freedom Ride and has been a sweet as can be, ready to get the love and care she deserves. She loves to play with her foster brothers and is learning to "dog" politely. Fig is solar-powered, loving to be in the sun, or finding a sunny spot by the window to relax. She has learned to walk nicely on a leash and commands like "sit," "down," "wait," "crate," "shake," "leave it," and even "spin." She is very food-motivated, which makes her a good student but can also be stubborn when distracted. Fig is very patient when it comes to nail trims, ear cleanings, and baths. Her favorite things are playing in the yard, playing with chew toys, swimming, and going for walks! She's a very sweet girl who makes cute grunts when excited. She does have goofy puppy energy sometimes but also loves cuddling up on the bed or the couch.
Ideal Home
Fig's perfect family would be people that have experience with dogs and that like to be outside. With proper training, she would be a good sister to another dog and likely would be good with older kids.
Ongoing Health
Fig was heartworm positive and underwent treatment, which she completed in 2024. She shouldn't have any lasting effects or damage. She is up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. She is on monthly preventative and eating premium grain-free dry dog food.
Training & Support
Fig is crate trained and housebroken, sometimes choosing to go into her crate on her own for naps. She is learning "how to dog" politely so she can have fun with new dog friends. She learns pretty quickly and will do anything for some yummy snacks.
