About Huckleberry (20250826-01)

Huckleberry is a handsome 2-year-old German Shepherd mix with a fawn coat, weighing in at 71 lbs. He's a sweet and affectionate boy with a fun, sassy streak, offering the perfect balance of calm and playfulness. Huckleberry was rescued as a puppy with his siblings and grew up in foster care. He's a world-class communicator, especially when it comes to mealtime, and loves to "talk" to let you know he's waiting. He's deeply connected to his people and canine companions and is friendly with new people, though he can be a little shy at first. With kindness and consistency, he warms up beautifully.

Ideal Home

Huckleberry needs a home with a large, securely fenced yard where he can run and play, as he is used to having plenty of space and is not yet 100% reliable on leash. He would thrive in a home with another dog to provide him with confidence and companionship, as he is used to playing with his siblings. He is good with older children as he can get excited and playful, and is not a good fit for an apartment.

Ongoing Health

Huckleberry is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. No specific health conditions are noted in his profile.

Training & Support

Huckleberry is house-trained and crate-trained. He walks pretty well on a leash but hasn't had extensive experience. He does not exhibit food aggression and eats in his kennel alone. He is not destructive and is not a flight risk, provided he has a secure fenced yard.
