Ellie is a resilient and incredibly sweet Bully mix, likely a mix of Pit Bull and American Bulldog, who is estimated to be 1-2 years old and weighs around 50+ pounds. She was found in rural Louisiana in early November, emaciated and covered in ticks, surviving in the wild. Despite her difficult past, Ellie has blossomed into a loving and affectionate dog who radiates gratitude for every kindness. She adores "Ellie Bellies," her signature belly rub sessions, and will reward you with the most heartwarming, grateful smile. Ellie is not aggressive towards people or other large dogs and has a forgiving spirit, eager to trust humans again.
Ideal Home
Ellie would thrive in a home where she can continue to build confidence, understanding that healing takes time and patience. She would do well as a single pet or in a home with other large, friendly dogs her size. A cat-free home is recommended, as her compatibility with felines has not yet been tested.
Ongoing Health
Ellie is fully vetted and healthy. She has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Ellie is crate trained and housebroken. She walks beautifully on a leash and knows basic commands like "sit" and "wait." She is eager to learn more and enjoys playing with toys. Ellie does show some fear responses to loud noises and sudden movements, likely due to past trauma. With patience and a calm environment, her confidence is already growing, and she needs an adopter committed to helping her continue building trust.
