Meet Petey, a scruffy little shih tuz mix with a heart as big as his fluffy personality. This wiry-haired sweetheart was found wandering homeless in Southern Illinois, but despite his rough start, Petey has held onto his gentle spirit and loving nature. He’s the kind of dog who lights up when he gets attention, happily soaking up pets and companionship wherever he can find it. Petey is curious, resilient, and ready to leave his days of uncertainty behind for a safe and loving forever home. Whether he’s trotting beside you on a walk or curling up nearby after a long day, Petey is simply happy to be with his people. He’s looking for a family who will give him the stability, patience, and affection he deserves — and in return, he’ll give endless loyalty and love.

OPTION ONE: RESERVE A PET IN ADVANCE by filling out an online application at https://wright-wayrescue.org/adoption-application-page
- Our typical turnaround time for applications is within 48 hours.
- An email will be sent to you once your application is approved. This email will include instructions on how to proceed with our reservation process.
- Please note: The location listed in an animal's profile does not indicate where the animal is available for adoption. Almost all of our adoptions are carried out at our Morton Grove facility.
OPTION TWO: COME INTO THE ADOPTION CENTER AND MEET THEM ALL!
The adoption center is located at 5915 W Lincoln Ave in Morton Grove, IL 60053. It is open Friday, 2pm-8pm and Saturday & Sunday, 11 am-5 pm.
