Meet Pepe Le Pew, a 9-week-old (estimated DOB March 2026) Chihuahua/Terrier mix who currently weighs around 3 pounds and is expected to grow a bit more. This little masked bandit was found abandoned on the streets of Houston with his eight siblings. Despite his rough start, Pepe is a lover, not a fighter, with a gentle personality that makes him impossible to resist. He adores naps, puppy kisses, and cozy snuggles, preferring to cuddle rather than cause trouble.
Ideal Home
Pepe is looking for a family ready for the joy and chaos that comes with raising a tiny puppy. He is brave and social, and we believe he will do well with children, cats, and other dogs when introduced appropriately. However, because of his small size, any resident pets should be gentle and experienced with very small dogs, and all interactions must be supervised. Pepe cannot be left alone for long periods, so we are seeking a home where someone is present most of the time. If you work outside the home for more than 4 hours, we will only consider your application if another adult in the household can care for him during the day.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned. As Pepe is still a young puppy, adopters should be prepared for ongoing veterinary care as he grows.
Training & Support
Pepe is still working on potty training and crate training. His new family should be prepared to continue consistent training, frequent potty breaks, and positive reinforcement with plenty of patience. Puppies thrive with structure, routine, and supervision, and Pepe will need this as he learns.
Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- If we believe you may be a good fit, we will reach out to schedule a phone interview.
- This will be followed by a video call with the foster home.
- A virtual home visit and personal and veterinary reference checks are required to finalize the adoption.
Transportation
Pepe is currently in a foster home in Austin, Texas. He can be transported to his approved adopter once a match is made. Transport runs every few weeks, so please apply when you are ready to accept a dog.
