Meet Lily — a little firecracker looking for her perfect match!
Lily is an approximately 8-month-old, 20-lb Heeler mix with the classic Heeler brain and drive packed into a perfectly petite package. She isn’t expected to grow much more, but don’t let her size fool you—this girl has a big personality, big intelligence, and big love to give. Let’s be honest: Lily is not for the faint of heart. She’s a working-breed pup through and through and needs an adopter who understands Heelers and what makes them tick. With the right person or couple, though, Lily will be an absolutely incredible companion. Lily is smart and very food motivated, which makes her a fantastic training candidate. She learns quickly and thrives when her brain is engaged. Agility, trick training, advanced obedience—this girl would likely love it all. She just needs someone excited to help her channel that sharp little mind.
Ideal Home
Lily's ideal home would include:
- A home without young or small children.
- An experienced dog owner, preferably familiar with herding breeds.
- A work-from-home person or couple who can give her time, training, and structure.
- A household committed to routine, mental stimulation, and daily activity.
- Another playful dog in the home could be great for Lily, but it’s not required as long as she has regular dog friends or play opportunities.
Ongoing Health
Lily is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed.
Training & Support
Like many young Heelers, Lily loves enthusiastically. When she gets excited, she jumps and gives playful mouthy nips. They don’t break the skin, but she’ll absolutely need a family committed to continuing her training and helping her learn appropriate ways to channel that excitement. Lily is crate trained when her people are away and through the night, though she would prefer not to be crated while someone is home. She is very close to being fully potty trained and currently uses pee pads indoors—consistent routine and guidance should get her fully there in no time. After a day of using her brain and burning off energy, Lily’s favorite place in the world is curled up in bed with her people. She is often on her very best behavior when snuggled under the covers, soaking up love and recharging for the next adventure. Despite her energy level, Lily really does have an off switch. She is a great napper and can be quiet and content with sleeping or playing with enrichment toys such as Benebones for your work day!
