Apollo

Apollo is a bright and energetic young pup who graduated from our dog training program at the Northeastern New Mexico Correctional Facility! His handler describes him as a cautious and aware dog who loves to explore with his nose. Apollo enjoys a good scratch, especially on his sides and haunches, and he absolutely adores ear rubs. He's a strong boy who loves to play fetch and tug, and he's happiest with a rope, ball, or bone to chew on. His favorite snack is Cheetos! Apollo gets along wonderfully with other dogs and shies away from any aggressiveness. He's a big fan of hugs and closeness, but he doesn't like being yelled at. While he can be a bit stubborn, he is incredibly smart and eager to please. He listens well but will definitely test his limits, so a consistent approach is key! Apollo also enjoys baths and is a big fan of cuddles.

Ideal Home

Apollo would do best in a home that can keep up with his energy. He prefers to not be startled by loud noises or people rushing up on him. As a medium-sized dog, Apollo will require a home with at least a 5-foot secure fence.

Ongoing Health

All adoption fees include spay/neuter, all shots up to adoption date, and lifetime microchip registration.

Training & Support

Apollo is a smart and eager-to-please dog who has graduated from a training program. He listens well but will test boundaries, so continued positive reinforcement and consistency will be key to his success. He can be stubborn, so patience and understanding will go a long way. All adopted dogs are eligible for free beginner basic training.

Apollo is located at Paws & Claws Animal Rescue of Quay County, Inc. in Tucumcari, NM. Transport may be available to approved adopters.
